How does SiteSurvey cloud sync work across devices and team members?

SiteSurvey cloud sync transfers completed form submissions, photographs, and floorplan data from mobile devices to the central platform as soon as the device has an active internet connection. When a surveyor submits a form on site, the data is queued immediately and uploads in the background without any manual step. Managers can see the submission appear in the web portal in real time.

When multiple team members are working on the same project simultaneously, each person captures their own submissions independently. Because each form submission is a discrete record tied to a specific operative, location, and timestamp, parallel work by different team members does not create conflicts. Records from all devices are merged into the project data set as they sync, giving managers a consolidated view as the day progresses.

The situation that requires conflict handling is when a single form record is edited by more than one person, which can occur when a supervisor amends a submission that an operative has already synced. SiteSurvey records the editing history and preserves the most recent version while retaining previous versions in the audit log, so no data is silently overwritten.

When an operative reconnects after a period offline, their locally stored submissions sync automatically in the order they were completed. Large batches of submissions, for example after a full day of offline surveying in an area with no signal, upload in sequence without requiring the device to stay active throughout the process. The sync status of each submission is visible to the manager in the project dashboard, showing which records are confirmed, which are pending, and whether any submissions encountered an error during upload.
